OUR PROGRAMS
Creating Opportunities & Inspiring Hope
At Amazing Child Care Program (ACCP), our programs focus on improving the lives of children living with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, physical disabilities, and other developmental disabilities across the Kigezi Region of Southwestern Uganda.
Improving access to care and rehabilitation
1. Healthcare and Rehabilitation
Children living with disabilities may require ongoing healthcare, therapy, rehabilitation, and specialist support. ACCP works to help families access the services and professional care they need.
Our healthcare and rehabilitation work focuses on improving access to healthcare and therapy, facilitating referrals to healthcare providers and specialists, and promoting early identification and intervention for developmental disabilities.
We work toward stronger connections between families and healthcare providers so that children can receive appropriate support as early as possible. Through collaboration with healthcare institutions and other partners, we seek to strengthen pathways to care and rehabilitation for children and their families.
SUPPORTING THE PEOPLE WHO CARE FOR CHILDREN
2. Family & Caregiver Support
Parents and caregivers are central to the wellbeing and development of children with disabilities. However, caring for a child with additional needs can present challenges that families should not have to face alone.
ACCP works to provide caregivers with information, training, guidance, and community-based support. We encourage families to participate actively in rehabilitation and child development activities and promote caregiver support groups where families can connect, share experiences, and support one another.
EVERY CHILD DESERVES THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN
3. Inclusive Education
Education is an important part of a child’s development and future. Children with disabilities should have opportunities to learn in environments where they are respected, supported, and included.
ACCP advocates for equal educational opportunities and promotes disability-inclusive learning environments. We work toward improving awareness of the needs of children with disabilities within schools and communities while supporting access to educational materials and services.
CHANGING ATTITUDES. BREAKING BARRIERS.
4. Community Awareness & Advocacy
Stigma, discrimination, and misconceptions about disability can create some of the greatest barriers faced by children and their families.
ACCP conducts community awareness and advocacy activities aimed at promoting understanding of disability rights and inclusion. We engage communities in conversations that challenge harmful misconceptions and encourage positive attitudes toward children with disabilities.
HEALTHIER ENVIRONMENTS FOR HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES
6. Environmental Protection & Sustainable Development
The wellbeing of children and families is closely connected to the environment in which they live. ACCP therefore recognizes environmental protection and sustainable development as an important part of building healthier communities.
We promote community awareness and sustainable practices such as proper waste management, sanitation, tree planting, and responsible use of natural resources. We also seek to collaborate with government agencies, environmental organizations, schools, and other stakeholders on initiatives addressing environmental degradation, climate-related challenges, and public health risks.

Our Approach
Our programs are built around the belief that sustainable change begins within communities.
We listen to the needs of children and families, work with local stakeholders, connect communities to relevant services, and encourage people to participate in finding solutions to the challenges they face.
Our approach is guided by compassion, dignity, respect, integrity, accountability, transparency, community participation, and empowerment.
We are committed to ensuring that our work protects the dignity of children, promotes inclusion, and contributes to lasting positive change.
Be Part of the Change
Supporting children with disabilities requires all of us to play a part.
Whether you are a parent, caregiver, volunteer, healthcare professional, school, organization, donor, development partner, or community member, there are meaningful ways to contribute to a more inclusive future.
Together, we can empower ability, inspire hope, and create communities where every child is valued and supported.
